What it's for

What it does in your package

Cold-seal packaging uses a cohesive coating that bonds only to itself. Press two coated surfaces together and they seal, with no heat applied.

Many cohesive cold-seal coatings are based on natural rubber latex. This coating is not made with natural rubber latex. Ask us for the manufacturer's statement for your file.

At 40 gsm (25 lb), it is a light web for products such as gloves, dressings, and syringes. Sterilization compatibility depends on your process, so ask us before you validate.

FAQ

Common questions

All FAQs

How does cold-seal paper seal without heat?

The paper carries a cohesive coating. Coated surfaces stick to each other when pressed together, with no heat. Because no heat is needed, it suits contents that should not be exposed to heat.

Why does latex-free matter?

Some cold-seal coatings are made with natural rubber latex, which can cause allergic reactions in patients and staff. This paper's cohesive coating is not made with natural rubber latex, and we can share the manufacturer's statement for your file.

What is cold-seal paper used for?

Typical applications include gloves, dressings and syringes. The paper is 40 gsm (25 lb). If you are not sure whether cold seal or heat seal suits your product, send us the details and we will help you decide.

Which sterilization methods can I use?

We have not yet confirmed compatibility for EtO, gamma or e-beam, so ask us before you plan a cycle. Steam is not recommended. Tell us your method and we will find out what the material supports. Always validate in your own sterilization cycle.

Who makes the paper, and can I get samples?

Latex-free cold-seal paper is sourced from qualified manufacturers in North America and Europe and supplied by CleanCut. We confirm each manufacturer's certification (standard, registrar and expiry) in writing as part of your supplier qualification. Each lot ships with our certificate of conformance, which records the manufacturer's lot number. Request samples on the quote form.
